Coffee Table: Fitting the Mortise & Tenon of the Legs February 14, 2018 Sally Yang Today was mostly spent joining the legs onto the short rails with mortise and tenons. The tenons were made on the tablesaw and bandsaw; mortise made on the mortiser. Wooh! Had to clean up the cheeks first with chisel and hammer The rounding of the tenons were done with a file At the right, you can see a template made from a spare piece of wood using the same settings on the mortiser. I used this to check the shape of the tenons as I filed. Finally, after a grueling hour of filing and planing, the tenons fit the mortises!
